Developing intuition: Frequently Asked Questions

Q-1: What is Intuition?
Your intuition is a vital resource for you at work, during social situations and in your personal life. Intuition is an inner advisor, a counselor, even an oracle, which you can access anywhere, anytime, day or night; in the office, on a commuter train, at home while doing exercises, walking, relaxing, even sleeping. Unfortunately, many people ignore the intuitive mind and depend solely on logical thinking. Yet logic and intuition are necessary companions. Logic helps you organize and assess the forest of information in which we live.

Dictionary meaning of the word Intuition

1. Knowledge or perception not gained by reasoning and intelligence; instinctive knowledge or insight.
2. Anything learned or perceived in this way. Roots: Late Latin Intuition means contemplation; From Latin intueri to gaze upon. From tueri to look at. The word intuition comes from the Latin intueri, meaning to consider, to look on. This intuitive “look on” implies something deeper than simple perception and is best described as apperception, the ability to “take hold of” knowledge in one glance. Webster’s Unabridged Dictionary sums up intuition as “the immediate knowing or learning of something without the conscious use of reasoning; instantaneous apperception.” Simply stated, intuition is direct knowledge.

Q-2: Is everyone Intuitive?

Do you sometimes have flashes of intuition that make you think you might be genuinely psychic? Do you sense other people’s emotions? Have you ever felt the presence of a departed loved one? What if you could use these psychic abilities – not just randomly, but every day?

Intuition, psychic abilities, Clairvoyance, Clairsentience ... these are all part of the sixth sense, the ability in all of us to communicate beyond the physical dimension. Everyone has this ability, but most of us have been taught to suppress this part of our nature. In order to get in touch with your Higher Self, learning to use and trust your intuition is essential.

Q-3: Can everyone develop his or her intuitive side?

Everyone can develop it to a fine art. In ancient Persia, India, Egypt, in just about every land on this planet there were schools of the prophets and ashrams of Rishis where the training actually went on to develop these intuitive skills. Ten-twelve thousand years ago we would see schools relating to the brotherhoods. If you could demonstrate abilities you could attend the school. There are times in the earth’s history where these things became hidden. This was done for protection.

Q-4: Can anybody learn to use Intuition?

Everybody has this ability. We are so busy with our lives and our day to day needs we have our physical needs, our emotional needs, our jobs, our relationships, our concerns, our fears, and our aspirations. These things occupy so much of our mental time that we don’t allow the natural intuitive self to come forward. Everybody has it but it does require openness and training to allow it to come forward.

Q-5: How Can I Increase My Intuitive Skills?

Regardless of your present abilities, everyone can learn to increase intuitive skills. Intuition Workshop teaches you about the world of intuition, and gives you exercises to help build your intuitive skills step-by-step.
